Peele addresses the decision on CBS This Morning
Jordan Peele‘s directorial debut, Get Out was a 2017 box office hit.
Disney is Taking Away All Its Movies from Netflix
The film was branded a horror film early on and obviously, due to its success, expected to pick up a few awards at the 2018 Golden Globes. However, in an effort to secure some type of recognition, the film’s production company, Blumhouse, will be submitting Get Out as a comedy/musical. This was confirmed by Entertainment Weekly, this past Tuesday.
The film will be competing against other such as: The Big Sick, The Disaster Artist, I, Tonya, and Lady Bird.
However, plenty of people are feeling quite odd about this move. Get Out is a social satire that clearly showcases the horrors of racism, yet it’s a comedy.
Peele declared, on CBS This Morning, that the movie, is actually a documentary. Check it out.

Lil Rel Howery, who played Rod (the internet’s favorite character), also took to Twitter to share his opinion. “[There] is nothing funny about racism..”
But if I can be honest this is weird to me… Their is nothing funny about racism… Was it that unrealistic lol https://t.co/5xSXBmatfP— Lil Rel Howery (@LilRel4) November 14, 2017
Blumhouse essentially earned the longest eye roll, ever. Anything for recognition…
