Toronto’s Chrystyna Marie is not just a solo artist. The indie blues popstar, actually doubles as the lead singer for LA’s Greenpoint.
But right now the focus is on her and her latest EP, Loaded Gun.
Marie got her foot in the door at 18 years old. She’s been in a number of community plays, bounced from indie label to label and writes her own music.
The must listen to single is “Loaded Gun.” It’s loving, grungy, emotional. “I wanted to create music from personal experiences and true emotions.” Marie did just that.
Her inspirations have no limit. She draws ideas from modern and classics artists like: Janis Joplin, Ottis Redding, Etta James,Selena and Christina Aguilera.
“Loaded Gun” is definitely stands out from the four track project. So even if you skip past the rest, just give this one a shot and trust you’ll be impressed.
“Breath is life, and life is music. Something the everyday person can relate to and build strength from having been exposed to it. With a raw and gritty feel to emulate these experiences and emotions”
