The film premiered at the 2018 Sundance Festival
I’m not sure if you guys have heard, between Trump, Kim K’s latest nudes, and the Grammys, but those who attended this year’s #Sundance were shook with what is said to be the ‘scariest movie this year.’
Hereditary is the directorial debut of Ari Aster, whose work include It Follows and The Witch. The casts includes Toni Collette, Gabriel Byrne, Alex Wolff, and Milly Shapiro as a family haunted by what may be their eerie dead grandma or it could be something worse. The parents (Collette and Byrne) take the chance to dig into their ancestry and uncover an inherited nightmare.
Joshua Rothkopf, from Times Up, called it “a new generation’s The Exorcist.” It’s only the end of the first month of 2018 and it seems the film has a lot to live up to.
Hereditary is scheduled to appear in theaters June 2018. Check out its first trailer, above.
