Muhammad alleges that  “Windows” samples Lonnie Liston Smith’s “Bridge Through Time,” which Abdul composed and later copyrighted May 21st,1979, according to the lawsuit.
As reported by the Chicago Tribune, Muhammad is seeking damages and a court order to stop Chance from “copying, distributing, performing, selling or offering to sell” the song. He is claiming he reached out to Chances management this past May, but there was no response.
If you didn’t know, 10 Day was initially passed out by Chance himself to friends. It was never intended to be sold, but this past January it was accidentally uploaded to iTunes and Apple Music.
