President Obama is made it clear on where he stands with the Republican Presidential Nominee, Donald Trump, during a press conference held on Tuesday (Aug. 1st) on the White House’s South Lawn. He was accompanied by Singapore’s Prime Minister, Lee Hsien Loong
“I think the Republican nominee is unfit to serve as president. I said so last week. And he keeps on proving it…[Trump] doesn’t appear to have basic knowledge around critical issues in Europe, in the Middle East, in Asia…this is not just my opinion.”
In case you don’t remember, in regards to the Khans he made some pretty crazy comments suggesting why Khizr Khan, the father of late U.S. Army Captain Humayun Khan, did no speak. He mentioned their religion, that she didn’t have anything to say and more.
As for foreign policy, Trump stated that Russian President Vladimir Putin wouldn’t make moves in the Ukraine, though he already did! And when called out for it, he started pointing fingers at Obama.
Obama has clearly had enough of the antics and is calling for the Republican Party to renounce their support of Trump.
“What’s been interesting is the repeated denunciations of his statements by leading Republicans. If you’re repeatedly having to say in very strong terms that what he has said is unacceptable, then why are you still endorsing him? This isn’t a situation where you have an episodic gaffe. This is daily, and weekly, where they are distancing themselves from statements he’s making … There has to be a point at which you say, ‘Enough.'”
Of course, Trump had to respond to the allegations and chose to do so via Facebook. Check it out below. What do you think?
