Stacey Dash Reads Mean Tweets Following Oscars Appearance

Stacey Dash. What else can we say about her? What haven’t we said about her.  Remember that time she came for Black History Month, BET, and tried to defend this year’s lack of diversity of the Oscars? Well, she wasn’t finished there.

Oscars 2016 host, Chris Rock introduced Stacey onstage for a joke that was resulted in the least amount of responses I’ve ever seen.

‘CLUELESS’ ACTRESS STACEY DASH COMES FOR BLACK HISTORY MONTH, BET & MORE

The joke was in reference to the #OscarsSoWhite issue that erupted when Jada Pinkett Smith began to boycott the Oscars when she noticed the lack of diversity amongst nominees.

The “solution?”

Implement a program for minorities and put Stacey at the head of it.

Chris Rock opened up with a monologue:

“The Academy has taken steps to fix this problem and that is why it is my honor to introduce the director of our new minority outreach program,” Rock announced to the audience. “Please welcome, Ms. Stacey Dash!”

There was little to no applause when she walked on stage but it was her next line that dropped the mic:

“I cannot wait to help my people out…Happy Black History Month!”

Silence.

It’s not definite that Stacey got the clue or not. She walked off stage ready to post to her blog about her experience.  She also made an entire video of her reading the mean tweets she had gotten, still dressed in her Oscars attire.

Her explanation of the joke was “cookie cutter” clear:

“For example, I spoke out against Black History Month. ( Why should there be such a thing? Haven’t we had more than just one month’s worth of accomplishments? Here my thoughts HERE.) Plus, I spoke out against the #OscarsSoWhite controversy HERE. My take? We need to stop complaining about white people oppressing us, we shouldn’t boycott the Oscars, and we need to support Chris Rock the host. Which brings me to the joke. When they added ME to increase the diversity, I’m sure many black people rolled their eyes. I’m not “black enough,” they say. But guess what? I’ve heard that all my life. I would rather be a free thinking, black than a cookie cutter black who thinks – and votes – just like all my friends.”

She also mentions how she noticed the audience reaction. All that I can say is poor Leo‘s night was ruined.
